Help! I’m having trouble explaining to some potential clients (shopping around) may get the “same” quoted amount of items from different designers. In the most recent case, our quote was for approx 11k and another florist’ quoted around 7k. We have a rule that we don’t ever down talk another designer. But I’m having trouble wording why our design may cost more. There’s so many factors that go into everyones pricing like overhead, skill, access to florals, etc. so I don’t want to come across as condescending. I’m usually pretty happy with how I communicate with liens but this one always stumps me. Anyone have any advice?
Hi Megan, that's a tough one! In general, we'd recommend not seeking to justify your costs to potential clients because you will find yourself always having that same conversation, and that becomes very exhausting. If someone doesn't see the value of what you provide then they're not your ideal client, and it might be better to let them go elsewhere.
