Hi - I am here in the uk and am really enjoying the on line class, its really helpful and Katie is a wonderful teacher... I just have a general question if that's ok ? I have watched the video on the tap technique which was great...but then when I look on facebook that lots of people are using the x technique ( sadly I am not a facebook user, I only set up an account to observe other peoples comments and creations, so don't want to post this question there - I am an oldie !! ) would it be possible for the difference between the tap technique and x technique to be explained ... it is quite possible I have missed something... apologies for the basic question, and really appreciate your time.
Caroline
Hi Caroline, we're glad to have you here and are happy to hear how much you're enjoying Ponderosa Classroom Online. To answer your question, the Tap Technique builds up in a spiral, creating more of a round form (you can see it in action in the Whimsical Cascading Bouquet Lesson), while the X Technique utilizes a framework (the X) that you fill in to achieve more of an elongated horizontal shape (seen in The Feeling of a Color Lesson). If you watch both of those Lessons you should get a pretty good idea of how the two techniques work. Since they are two of the primary techniques Katie uses you should see them popping up again in future Lessons.
Let us know if you have any other questions!
Thanks again,
James O.
