“To live content with small means. To seek elegance rather than luxury,
and refinement rather than fashion. To be worthy not respectable,
and wealthy not rich.
To study hard, think quietly, talk gently,
act frankly, to listen to stars, birds, babes, and sages with open heart, to bear all cheerfully, do all bravely, await occasions, hurry never.
In a word, to let the spiritual, unbidden and unconscious,
grow up through the common. This is to be my symphony.”
William Henry Channing
Before starting this meditation, feel free to inhale fully, allowing yourself to relax while you become deeply rooted where you are sitting or standing. When you exhale, release any thought or energy that is no longer serving you. Feel yourself grounded and present within your body. During the meditation, acknowledge any thoughts or feelings as they arise and then return your focus to your breath and body when you can. As the meditation comes to a close, find a moment of gratitude to hold onto as you go throughout the rest of your day. You got this, keep going!
